Alexandra Stefanakis
╳“I've always loved cinema, and I devoted myself to making portraits of the world of music, which inspired me to set the scene in the world of fashion...”.
A multidisciplinary author and photographer by trade, Alexandra Stefanakis explores the world of fashion, juxtaposing it with that of music. She reveals a sensitive eye within a variety of universes, and succeeds in capturing musical beauty in universes that feed into and adapt to our environment in creative ways. Her creative process has defined her as a “visual poet”. She listens, observes and translates with wonder the meaning of life through a spiritual approach. Greatly influenced by the work of Le Corbusier and Kandinsky, she took her first steps in the world of art and architecture using ancient image processes. With an innovative vision that explores a strong graphic bias, she moves towards a defined horizon and offers stagings that blend fashion, music and architecture in an avant-garde spirit. In a creative dynamic she initiated some forty years ago, she realistically celebrates the allure of femininity with an artistic approach borrowed from the codes of cinema. Her first studio shots, taken with a 20x25 cm camera, have won professional awards.
Fine photography books on the worlds of luxury and sport were published as part of commissioned productions before being exhibited. She continues these collaborations, exhibiting in France and in numerous galleries abroad, and some of her archival photographs can be found at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. She has diversified her activities, collaborating with communications agencies as an artistic director specializing in events, where she takes the initiative in proposing new formats to promote art in the corporate world, making experimental films, and training and judging international photo competitions.
More recently, she founded Anastasi'Art, an association dedicated to producing immersive, connected art installations with low environmental impact. Thanks to new technological innovations, the association's aim is to establish a bridge between art and citizens. Alexandra Stefanakis is convinced that by bringing artistic solutions to the heart of urban communities, art can regain its meaning, with the aim of balancing our existence without suffering its consequences. It would create social links, decompartmentalizing the cultural sector by proposing active, useful solutions as a new paradigm. Alexandra Stefanakis wants to help embellish parks and gardens, squares and avenues by proposing the concept of the open-air museum to Smart city, with the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence as an evocation of uses, in an innovative perspective: she wants to demonstrate that the beauty of art can save the world notably with the immersive Wellness art installation, presented in 2023 at the Art Paris show.
